Even after significant percentage of quota for Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) in government jobs, the research had stated that only 4% of the rural SC/ST households have a member in government job. While 18% of the country’s rural population comes under SC category and 11% of the rural population falls under ST category, the statistic for family member having government jobs is disappointing.
